About The Pottery
Etta B Pottery was founded in 2008 in the small town of Etta, Mississippi, by my parents in a 100-year-old farmhouse. Rooted in family, creativity, and a deep respect for handmade work, my mother, Brent DeShea, is a self-taught potter and designer who learned the craft through years of patience, perseverance, and daily hands-on practice. What began as a small studio has grown thoughtfully over time, guided by consistency, care, and an enduring love for detail.
Each piece is designed by my mother and handmade and hand-painted by our family and a dedicated team of artisans who care deeply about their work. From raw clay to finished piece, the process is intentional at every stage. Pieces are shaped, glazed, and fired by hand, allowing for subtle variations that make each one unique.
Behind every finished piece are steady, experienced hands and years of practice. My father plays a central role in the firing process, tending the kilns with care and precision. Timing and experience come together at this stage, transforming clay into durable pottery meant to be used, gifted, and loved every day.
Designed for both everyday meals and meaningful gatherings, Etta B Pottery is heirloom-quality stoneware that is food safe, microwave safe, and oven safe. Our clay and glazes are lead-free and non-toxic. These pieces are made to live in your home, to be set on the table often, and to become part of your daily rhythms of hosting and serving. With ever-evolving designs, the collection includes both seasonal offerings and timeless pieces created to be enjoyed year after year.
Etta B & Co. was created in 2015 by daughter Brooklyn DeShea to thoughtfully share this work beyond the studio. Operating alongside the pottery, the online shop reflects a close connection to the process and the people behind each piece. Every item offered is part of the full Etta B collection and is shared with respect for the craft and attention to detail.
